I can look up the manual and see if you have a red and a white RCA out. If you only have one jack, that is a digital audio out and you need a stereo that has that kind of digital input, or you have to buy an adapter, which costs $50-$60!

5 I assume you are trying to have the sound come through your stereo and not the other way around. If so, then it's easiest to think of the hookups like a water pipe. You have to take the audio output from the TV into an audio input on your stereo.(you will need an adapter like DanZee says if the TV is new and Stereo is old) Make sure you select the right input on your stereo and voila it should work.

Sometimes you will need a direct line from your DVD player to your stereo if you want sound from a DVD.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
