MK, I probably have 15-20 worthless REO's as well. I don't think the State will take them back, but you may be able to donate them to the City, a Church, etc and get a writeoff, which is probably worth more than your properties. I am in Florida, if you have any in the Southeast, I may take a look at them and take them off your hands.

Also, people are always looking for cheap stuff on ebay/craigslist. I sold a few off there. I am not sure if I am allowed to give you my email address on this, but send me a spreadsheet of what you have and I can give you more guidance.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
