I don't really know about that but I know toothpaste is good if you put it on them, it will suck the stuff out of them.
Prevention is the best thing though for long term clear skin. Pimples build under the skin for two weeks before they actually appear, which means that before any major event where you want clear skin you have to start washing your face two weeks before.
You should also wash your pillowcase every two weeks to keep the oil off it and if you are female tie your hair back because that will get oil on your face.
There is some evidence that honey is antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic, and it can therefore be infered that honey will help with some aspects of acne.

I know that a good Manuka honey is effective on pimples as it has antibacterial properties. See my article about Olive Oil too. This is very effective in clearing up acne.
It sounds weird but I make a scrub out of sugar. It's a great exfoliant and doesn't dry out your skin. Just mix sugar with a little hot water, and well scrub.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
