I have one of those Mainstays floor lamps from Walmart. Why does it keep tripping when I put in an energy saving bulb? I'm pretty sure it's not the bulb - I've already tried switching to another energy saving bulb.

The bulb is way below the wattage spec - it's a 15W that's equivalent to the regular 40W. Asked by Enhance 48 months ago Similar questions: Mainstays floor lamps Walmart tripping put energy saving bulb Home.

This could be the problem. The built in ballast draws more amps at first to start the bulb. Also, it may be listed as 15W because it only draws 15W to run compared to 40W max for a regular bulb.

I believe that yes, it's a fluorescent bulb, just like most other energy saving ones. But how is this a problem? What do you mean by it draws more amps?

Funny thing is that it is able to stay on for a few minutes (random, sometimes 1 minute, sometimes 20) .

I recently bought a Mainstays floor lamp with reading light from Walmart. Will this work in my country (220V, 60hz)?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
