I just found out I am having a boy (my first child!). Any recommendations for good parenting books geared towards boys?

Stay away from Dr. Spock. Read the Bible: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord" (Ephesians 6:1-4). Would that my parents (mom) had memorized that "provoke not your children"! Really, gender isn't going to be nearly as important as the simple requirement that you set aside what you think you must do to spend time with your child(ren).

Get down onto the floor with the li'l tyke and be with, at eye level, while always being clear that you never stop being the authority. Love means a relationship; boy or girl doesn't matter because both will need to know you really love them enough to set self aside for them. Danielpauldavis 60 months ago.

Nothin can prepare you for a new lil man in the house my first born was a boy and I read every book there was and when it came down to it I didn't have time to even think about what I read. You will learn from your lil guy just as he will learn from you. You will make mistakes we all do but thats part of parenting but my biggest piece of advice is #1 PATIENCE you will definitely need that #2 Do everything you can to lessen your risk of heart attack cause your lil dare devil will be sure to give you one of them #3 and embrace every moment you spend with him because they grow up so fast take a lot of pictures and write down all the memories cause before you know it, it will no longer be cool to hug mommy lol.

Congrats you will do wonderful as long as he is your first priority and you show him and tell him how much you love him every day you will do just fine! O yea and HAVE FUN they are full of so much joy and inspiration and curiosity you will learn new things every day with him! Good luck mommy!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
