There are many ways the the world could come to an end. I saw one person who said that they were planning to move to Wyoming because it would be far from any potential sea rise or virus outbreak. But I had to point out that it might be ground zero for the super-volcano.
Pearl S Buck wrote a book called "The Wave" in which villagers didn't know which way to run when the Earth shook, to the mountain or to the sea but they knew that an eruption or a tsunami was sure to follow. Prepping can help you to feel confident but it can lead to overconfidence. It has been shown that people feel confident when they have a gun but are very unlikely to be able to use it in an emergency and are far more likely to be a target.

Also it is in the nature of teenagers to go through stages but we should never discourage enthusiasm.
I think you should pursue what you want to do. There's nothing wrong with having a dream, and even if its not your full parents approval, you should inform them that you feel passionate about this deal and that you're gonna follow through with it. Obviously, if you feel that they "think" it's just a stage, them, from you, then it obviously means something to you and you should go through with it and inform them that this isn't temporary.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
