Sure! Try any of these: Artemis Fowl - Eoin Colfer This series is a little on the fluffy side, but it's good light fun, about the son of a master thief who delights in thwarting the wishes of the fairy world and stealing magical artifacts along the way of his pursuit of unlocking the mystery of his father's fate. Taryn Wanderer - Lloyd Alexander A wonderful young adult fantasy series about a young man raised on a farm who slowly comes to understand his legacy is much more important than he ever realized.

This series perfectly balances the epic sweep of Lord of the Rings with the eminent readability of Harry Potter. Lloyd Alexander has a wonderful sense of the symbolic, his mythology is balanced and intuitive, without seeming obvious. I strongly recommend this series - it was one of my favorites as a kid!

The Belgariad - David Eddings The Belgariad is the story of a young boy who accidentally avoids an assassination attempt and is suddenly swept up in a series of broad political and magical adventures at the crux of a clash of nations - David Eddings builds a bold and vivid world with a complex and intriguing history attached to it. Best of all, if you enjoy this series there are 5 books in it, and 5 books in the sequel series the Mallorean. Wild Magic - Tamora Pierce Most of Tamora Pierce's books are loosely related - not strictly a series, but with many overlapping characters and settings.

Wild magic is my personally favorite, but the Alana books are also worth looking into. Not only is Pierce's system of magic both unique and interesting, but unlike many young adult books - and especially many young adult fantasies - Pierce's novels are centrally oriented around strong female characters, both main and supporting. Hope those help!

Authors - Tamora Pierce, Anne Mccaffrey and Mercedes Lackey My favourite fantasy author is Tamora Pierce. I first read one of her books when I was 12, now that I am in my twenties I still read her books. She writes fantasy novels, that are marketed towards young adults.

Her fantasy universe combines magic and many mythological creatures (dragons, hurroks, basilisks...) as well as creatures of her own creation. The common theme throughout her novels is 'women that don't need to be rescued'. Her books do lean towards the female rather than male demographic.

You might also be interested in Anne Mccaffrey, she has written many books about Dragons/Dragonriders before Christopher Paolini was even born ;) One other author is Mercedes Lackey, her books cover fantasy and supernatural themes. She has published a greater variety of novels, some of which are set in our world instead of a fictional land. White (CLASSIC) The Charlie Bone series by Jenny Nimmo Sources: opinion .

Like you, I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books. From there I went on to read Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice, the first in a series of books called the Farseer Trilogy. Another book you might enjoy is the Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud.

This is about a young wizard in an England radically different from that of the Harry Potter series - a world in which the wizards aren't necessarily the "good guys" - kind of like the Malfoys in Harry Potter had taken over the wizarding world and were persecuting the Muggles. And finally try Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder, a fascinating tale of a young woman who becomes a dictator's food taster to avoid a trip to the gallows and gradually discovers magical powers she never knew she had.

Were can I find the special editions of the harry potter books.

I wanted to know if anyone could tell me where I could find the dust jackets for the last 3 harry potter hardcover books.

Do you like the Harry Potter books or movies and why.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
