I need a link to the best FREE software to inventory my home DVD collection. Just finished getting my DVD collection straight, now I need a link to some free software to keep it organized. I can make one in Excel, but I really want a finished 'caned' product for this since it's a one time deal.

I use DVD Aficionado I originally created (and still maintain) a list in Access, but for the last 2 years or so, I've been using DVD Aficionado to track my collection. This is a free site that allows you to track your collection, right down the particular version of the DVD that you have...from the barebones edition to a metal-case limited edition director's cut. What I really like about it is that it automatically breaks your collection down into genre and sub-genre.To give you an idea, you can view my page here: alecto.dvdaf.com/ They recently upgraded their website, so some of the features they had before (like being able to export your list into various formats) have not been re-implemented yet.
I used to use the similar method over at imdb.com, but I found DVD Aficionado to be more user friendly.
IT'S NOT SOFTWARE, BUT IT IS A FREE SITE dvdtown.com/" rel="nofollow">dvdtown.com/ I USE THIS SITE TO INVENTORY ALL OF MY DVD'S I HAVE. IT IS FREE AND IT IS UPDATED REGULARLY. I HAVE BEEN USING THIS SITE SINCE 2002.
CHECK IT OUT! Sources: dvdtown.com/" rel="nofollow">dvdtown.com/ .
I'm no expert, but here's some info from the New York Times: On March 29, 2007, J. D. Biersdorfer answered a reader's question similar to yours: >Q.
I am looking for software to catalog my huge CD collection. I would like to be able to search by artist, album, composer, etc. I know there are lots of programs out there, but which one is best?A. A quick Web search for “CD cataloging software” does bring up an overwhelming amount of software that promises to organize and track your music collection.
To find the best choice (a designation that can be influenced by individual opinion as well as technical factors like the operating system being used), you may want to sample a few programs. Fortunately, many programs designed to catalog compact discs offer free trial versions to download and try before you have to pay for them. For example, OrangeCD Catalog (firetongue.com) and CATraxx (fnprg.com) are two programs for Windows that offer free, limited-time trial editions to download and cost less than $40 if you decide to buy.
Music Collector (www.collectorz.com) for Windows and Macintosh systems also has a free trial version; the program is available in two versions for $40 or less and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can also find cataloging programs to sample in shareware archives like Download.com. Some programs gather data from bar codes, so you may need to factor in the purchase of a bar-code scanner.
For people who want to make a database of all their CDs, movies, books and other media, a number of general database programs are available as well. They include Readerware (www.readerware.com; Windows, Macintosh and Linux systems) and Delicious Library (www.delicious-monster.com), a Mac-only program that can use an iSight video camera to scan bar codes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
