Hearing ignorant comments would ruin our good time." If this is true, then you really have no choice. Keep it low key by not advertising it.
To answer your specific question, I've seen same sex couples there and even spent half a day with my cousin and his partner. It went fine, but they weren't honeymooning, or wearing shirts and pins to call attention to themselves. It may not be fair, but the most important thing is that the 2 of you enjoy your honeymoon.
If tacky rude comments would impact that, then you're paying too high a price to wear the shirts and pins. Also, you'll be filling out forms and asked if you're celebrating anything. I would definitely let them know you're honeymooning.
Sometimes you get minor stuff, like certificates or a free dessert, etc, but what helps is that this sort of thing is less likely to provoke loudmouth boors than if you're walking past them in the main areas.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
