I need to sell my paintings does anybody know a good art web site to sell them on?

Have you tried placing them on Etsy. Com? There's a lot of competition there, but you can set up a page.

Alternatively, how about setting up a webpage, easily done with wordpress, and use a Facebook profile and Twitter to promote.

I am a visual artist too. First thing I would suggest is that you establish a web presence-set up a simple website and start sending out the address to your social circle. There are sites like facebook and twitter as suggested before me that you could use to promote your website.

Secondly I would suggest that you realize the time factor is directly related to how much you expose your work-the more you expose it the better the chances of selling. Lastly I would suggest that, having set up a web presence, continue working and looking for other ways to promote your work, it may take time to sell but I think that is not the point as an artist. Much as we would love to live off our work, it may take years to sell a piece BUT you do not want the sales to start and you have no work to sell!

FineArtAmerica.com It costs nothing to create an account and costs about $30 year for their Print On Demand function which allows people to purchase your originals and also prints. What ever your profit goes directly into your paypal account. It's a really neat site with lots of support--computer/techy support, as well as other artist support.

And they make quality, giclee prints. I've been selling my art on their site for a couple of years now. And am happy with them.As with hubpages, don't expect to make lots of money fast, it takes time.

Let me warn you though, DO NOT get sucked into any of the sites (like art-exchange. Com) that require large amounts of up-front money. Or want to take your art to an art show in New York or Dallas or where ever, and charge hundreds of dollars!

You need an art gallery where real artists manage it. Most of galleries are run by money makers and do not care about art at all. All they want is your money and presence because they get money just by having a space ocupied.

I know a gallery called Art Palazzo it began only a few months ago and it is accepting artists for a very low fee but they have a limit of only 50 artists. That means they are really looking for art not just making money having thousands of artists. Www.artpalazzo.com.

Put your items in ecrater.com, there's no charge. Small fee when something sells but well worth it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
