I ordered an item from a seller on Amazon. No worries. Then, I get an email from the seller with the following info... Seller says that since I am getting such a deal on the item ordered, the shipping and handling is too much for her and wants to know if I want to cancel or come up with something to reduce the shipping fees since I am overseas.
Well, I emailed her back telling her she can send it lowest priority, which would be SAM (space available mail) and that the PO shouldn't charge her an outrageous fee since it is basically being sent to NY where the APO is located and NOT technically overseas. I got nothing back. Then I emailed her again and told her I can change the address from my APO to the APObox.Com address which is a NJ address, therefore reducing her fees.
So, then I get an email saying that she already sent it and I owe her $55 bucks and I need to sign up for something like paypay or send her a check or money order. She then pulled the pity card and said she was in a wheelchair, on SSI and the shipping set her back.Am I wrong to feel that something isn't right? See db.

Okay, enough It is time to report all of this to Amazon - do not pay her until you have the article in hand - yes there is something wrong with this sad story. This is not a business transaction - this is a scam. I really would look elsewhere for the item - the old saying, Nothing is free, does apply here..
The seller should stick to that amount, I should think. If she doesn't, I would complain to Amazon directly.
2 I told her to wait, and she took it upon herself to send the item out. Part of me says to pay only part of the shipping, since I held up my end of the deal and paying part would just be me being nice. Part of me wants to tell her that I don't appreciate her pulling the pity card since business is business and her issues have nothing whatsoever to do with the transaction.
What would you guys do? Am I being mean or a tightwad? I am probably going to mention this to Amazon customer service, but, I would like some feedback from you guys.
I know y'all will tell it like it is and will tell me if I am being a meany.

JEMS_Mom replied to post #1: 3 Yes, it was. That is why I am kinda irked about it. But, she pulled the pity card and tried to make me feel bad.
I say bidnizz is bidnizz.

4 Still curious as to whether the estimated shipping charge was on the Amazon page. Everything I've ordered from Amazon has had that, even from their associate sellers. I wouldn't think you'd be obliged to pay more than that amount.

My Options? " "If I buy an item from a third party on Amazon, how does Amazon know the seller actually shipped the item?" "What should you do if a seller selling through Amazon does not ship your item after 3 days? " "Can you search for an item by Amazon Prime as the only seller?
" "can my item I ordered on amazon come quicker than it says?
If you sell on Amazon and someone puts your item in their cart does Amazon notify the seller.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
