I have naturally med brown hair. This past winter I was dyed to a copper like blonde (double 30 Wella 8.2/9.2). I got tired of the upkeep so I tried dying it back to my natural color yesterday.
I used L'oreal Excellence 4, and now I have black hair (there is no reddish hue, a little of my underlying blonde.. to think I used two bottles) What should I use? (if you go to photobucket and look up RachlW15 you can somewhat see what it used to look like and looks like now..) There are actually a couple of things you can do. You just colored it, so there is a chance that some of the deep, dark pigment will still wash out to show a little of the reddish hue. It usually takes about 5 or 6 washings for the excess pigmentation to rinse out.
Pert shampoo is known to strip some of the dye out of newly colored hair. You can give Pert a try, or if you are a little braver, try a "shampoo cap" which is a mixture of bleach and developer mixed together, and added to the shampoo, then left on for 5 minutes (just enough to subtly lift your shade one level). The mixture should be 1 part bleach mix to 2 parts shampoo.
Next would be the option of throwing in a few hilights. You could pull it through a cap, or use foils concentrating more around your face, then put the bleach on until it reaches a caramel shade. This looks very nice on a dark backround.(just be sure to keep the bleach away from your scalp. It expands and creeps up making blotches, so 1 inch to be safe) This also helps for the transition while your natural color is growing out.
It eliminates that solid dark re-growth line. You could go to a salon and they could put in the hilights, or use a color stripper to remove the color (which could run a little pricey if they need to correct it afterwards). Darkening tends to make hair healthier, and lightening damages hair.
You should be safe to use bleach once, and still have hair that isn't too brittle. If it does feel a little dry, I would wait a week or 2, then apply a gloss after lightening, to bring the shine back. Whatever the choice, your hair is important, and it is worth a little time/money investment to not have to walk around feeling like you're having a bad hair day for months.
You might even like the hilighted look on dark even better, and keep doing it. In that case, this would be a great accident! Sources: fixmypix.aview4all.com .
1 Oooo, oooo, oooo. Mr Kotter. I know!
Quit messing with it and let it grow back on it's own. Then cut the other stuff off. Or, you could go have a professional do it, although your hair is pretty damaged by now.

RachlW15 replied to post #1: 2 My hair was actually really healthy as a blonde. I always have glosses put on it especially after I dye it. The only reason why my hair looks so frizzy in the blonde pic is because I have naturally thick and curly hair... and when I blow dryed it it was right after I just shampooed it to get the product out of it so I could dye it and didn't blow dry it in a certain way.. if you go to my photobucket I just uploaded a new one with my hair regular .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
