I want a puppy, French Bulldog or Boston Terrier?

Wow a very exciting decision - a new puppy. Here are the AKC breed standard temperament descriptions of the two types of dogs, keep in mind that each breed will have variations among individuals: Boston Terrier: ---Quote--- Temperament The Boston Terrier is a friendly and lively dog. The breed has an excellent disposition and a high degree of intelligence, which makes the Boston Terrier an incomparable companion.

---/End Quote--- akc.org/breeds/boston_terrier/ French Bulldog: ---Quote--- Temperament Well behaved, adaptable, and comfortable companions with an affectionate nature and even disposition; generally active, alert, and playful, but not unduly boisterous. ---/End Quote--- akc.org/breeds/french_bulldog/ Both breeds require little grooming and only moderate to little exercise. But as all dogs do, they will require solid socialization (with all kinds of people and other dogs) and obedience training to become polite canine members of the family :) If you are interested in a pure bred pup, the AKC web site can help you to learn more about each breed and to find breeders.

How about adopting a little puppy dog guy or girl! Many specific breed rescue organizations can help you find that special puppy or young dog - many AKC registered or pure bred dogs that need a second chance are waiting for new forever homes. Please consider looking into these sites as you make your decision about your new pup: Boston Terrier Club of America - Breed Rescue Information http://bostonterrierclubofamerica.org/index.htm French Bulldog Rescue http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/htdocs/available.html Another great pet adoption website is Petfinder.

Here you can specifically search on a breed type and location or range and see the available pets waiting for new families! Some are pure bred some are mixed breeds. Here's a link to Petfinder, I did an example search on Frenchies near LA: http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=french+bulldog&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=LA Contact the Humane Society and local shelters and rescue groups also, if you let them know the breed you are looking to rescue they will be happy to contact you if a dog or litter of puppies is surrendered that fits your description.

Some really cute little guys are ready for a new home right now! Good luck to you, take you time and pick the right dog (not just breed) for you.

Well, it all depends what you like in a dog. Here's a great site (Your Purebred Puppy) that explains the advantages and disadvantages of French bulldog puppies: yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/frenchbull... The biggest problem seems to be their health. French bulldogs may struggle to breathe in humid climates, so where you live may be a factor in your choice.

The same website also has a page on the advantages and disadvantages of getting a Boston terrier puppy: yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/bostonterr... Seems these dogs are generally good natured but are hard to housebreak. If you choose to consider another breed, go to this page: yourpurebredpuppy.com/dogbreeds/index.html Here you will find reviews on 180 different types of dogs. Good luck with your search!

Now this is only my 2 cents on the my choice if I were to choose from the 2 breeds that you listed. First, I think they are both adorable, loving breeds. However, I do not have any actual ownership experience with the Frenchy. My vote would go for the Boston Terrier.

I am speaking of my experience and my thoughts on them, plus listing certain health problems known for the breed. Since I was a kid, I have owned a few Boston Terriers. I have loved the breed since my first one when I was 8 or 9 years old.

Boston Terriers are very loving dogs. They love to play, if they could, they would do it until they pass out. I have noticed that they can be very protective of the family, they seem to think they are Great Danes and are very good if you want a dog that can let you know when someone is in your home or around your property.

They do have breathing problems, because of their "smooshed" in faces, though they still try to push themselves as much as they can. Oh and they do snore, if that is something that would bother you, I doubt either breed would be a good choice for you.Hehe. They can not be left out in extreme weather, be it hot or cold.

I find they are great for a large home or a smaller one. Some recommend that they are not in a home with very small children as they get a little rowdy and even though they are small, might still hurt a child by accident. They do adore children though.

As others mentioned, they require little grooming, but there is one that should be done often. Because of the wrinkles on their face, as with any bull dog breed, they get what is called 'tear stains' around their eye/nose area. If wiped with a wet cloth, you can usually prevent the staining appearance.

Again, this is just a little of my opinion on the breed. I adore them and always will. They make a great pet!

The Boston Terrier is known for his friendly nature that makes him a wonderful companion. He does well in apartments and living with single people. However, he is equally adaptable to family living since he does get along well with children.

The Boston Terrier is an intelligent breed, lending him to easy training. S disposition is typically friendly and lovable. He enjoys spending time with people and being indoors is quite acceptable to him.In fact, remaining indoors is also advisable due to his extreme sensitivity to changes in temperature and proclivity to skin ailments.

Boston Terrier Traits - dog-pound.net/terrier/boston-terrier-pro... The French Bulldog makes a very good companion dog. She is playful and fairly easy to care for, but she needs plenty of human attention. She is generally good around other pets and loves children.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
