I want Goggle IMAP to NOT deliver mail to Outlook Express. I only want to read mail in OE that is stored on Google?

I want Goggle IMAP to NOT deliver mail to Outlook Express. I only want to read mail in OE that is stored on Google. If you didn't have to delete email 2 times it would be great.

You have to purge deleted items if you use OE By definition, IMAP does not "pull" anything from the mail server, it only reads it. If you delete it through outlook express it marks it as ready to be deleted, but you have to select "Purge Deleted Items" in the toolbar to actually delete it from the server. So you can either delete the emails through the web-based email or you purge it from OE.

POP3 pulls emails from the server to your computer, IMAP doesn't.

1 Definitely not my area of expertise, but I don't think you can read mail in OE unless you download it from the email server. OE retrieves mail from whatever server you specify, then you can read it. It doesn't let you see through to gmail.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
