Mine has red highlights too - I found if I avoided any that have the word "golden" or "red" or "strawberry", then I have less of a red tint. I strongly suggest you go with a non-permanent type of haircolor as well. Although you will have to color it more often, it tends to not pull the red out in hair like ours.
