Aside from doing as well academically as you can in high school, and learning how to organize yourself academically speaking, there isn't much you can do to prepare. You can decide in advance how many activities you think you can reasonably participate in and what you think they should be, but you can't know what else you might stumble across that looks interesting. Do plan to get involved in some activities or clubs.
That will help you meet people with whom you share interests, but don't overschedule yourself with those. Your studies come first, though you'll need distractions and relaxation to keep your mind fresh. Plan to eat regularly and healthily and to get regular exercise and enough sleep.
Even a long brisk walk every day is good exercise for the brain and body. As far as organizing yourself is concerned, plan to keep a schedule of when you'll be studying, what you'll be studying, when assignments are due and when tests/exams will take place. If you're well-organized from the very beginning, you won't fall behind.
For example, if you can look at your schedule at see that you've got a midterm coming up in late October, you can plan to start studying for it some days in advance. And since college students are expected to keep up with the reading on their syllabi on their own, the professors don't check up, planning what you'll be doing each day will help you stay caught up, so you're not frantically trying to cram in reading at the last minute before midterms and finals. Do as much of the suggested readings on the syllabi as you can, not just the required reading.
That's as much as anyone can tell you in advance. To some extent, you'll just have to wing it when you get there.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
