I want to make a nice romantic dinner for my wife, but I must admit I am not a very good cook. What should I make that is easy, but nice?

As you have said you like Indian food and Greek food ,here is a very simple recipe for your dinner. A mini meal consisting of Palak Rice (for recipe: indobase.com/recipes/details/palak-rice.php), with a side dish achaari Murg (for recipe: indobase.com/recipes/details/achaari-mur...) and a German hot or cold(preferable) Potato Salad(for recipe: kitchenproject.com/german/recipes/German... ), with some spiced /fruity yogurt would make a wonderful simple dinner. Good Luck.

Chicken Marsala is a great simple dish. Serve with linguine and a green vegetable, such as broccoli or spinach. You can find step by step instructions for Chicken Marsala here: mahalo.com/how-to-make-chicken-marsala.

Frozen lasagna, salad and garlic bread (French loaf sliced in half longways butter and garlic powder under the broiler of a few minutes). Just enough effort on your part while making sure dinner will be edible.

What I suggest to most novice cooks is a luscious Chicken Piccata. There are dozens of recipes on the Internet, and most are very simple (example: epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Chicke...). It looks impressive, is easy to make, and tastes great.

You also don't need lots of ingredients. The sauce goes well with just about any starch and veggie. Serve with rice and green beans or carrots?

If you pick a good quality microwaveable veggie brand, that's one step you can cut out. Yes, not everything needs to be completely handmade. =) Plate everything with care (lay the chicken over the rice, drizzle with sauce, carrots or green beans to the side) and you will be sure to impress.

Good luck.

I agree with the above. Instead of cooking dinner why don't you put together a wine and cheese picnic. You can get various cheeses and goumet crackers, maybe some chicken salad, some fresh fruit, keep it light.

You can have your picnic infront of a fireplace or create another venue in your livingroom. With the right music and right mix of food, I am sure you will be a hit. The biggest advantage is the privacy so the conversation can be anything withough interuptions.(make sure to turn off all phones).

I recommend spaghetti with tomato sauce. Its fast, easy to make and tasty. Here is the recipe: 1 can of diced tomatoes 1 big onion 1 clove of garlic 5 or 6 pieces of allspice 3 or 4 bay leaves 1/2 teaspoon oregano 1/2 teaspoon basil 1/2 teaspoon marjoram 4 or 5 tablespoons of olive oil.

A pinch of salt and pepper. -Cut the onion as shown here: reluctantgourmet.com/cut_onion.htm -peel and cut the garlic -heat the oil in a frying pan -fry the onion and garlic on the pan for about 5 minutes. (don`t burn it.) -add tomatoes, basil, oregano, marjoram, allspice, bay leaves, a pinch of salt and pepper and 1/4 cup of water.

-stir, cover and let it cook on low heat for about 20 minutes. In the meantime prepare the spaghetti: Add a portion spaghetti to a pot of boiling salted water an cook for about 15 minutes. Stir from time to time.

(A portion of spaghetti for two people is about 1/2 of a 500g pack). Sieve, put on a plate, cover with sauce. Thats it.

Trust me here, man, if you can't cook don't do it. You'd be better to get something out and decorate the place up nice and put on some mood music. Something tells me she will be more into your originality and sweet thought process than your skills (or lack thereof) in the kitchen.

Does not have to be expensive, either. Just something simple, but put effort into setting the scene. Lemme know how it goes!

:).

If all else fails you order take out before the wife gets home and set it all up romantic ... :) ... or you have a small pre-dinner treat like thing set up all romantic like.. then go out to eat... and come home.. to a new after dinner simple treat.. Then lead things a different way...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
