I would like to become a Police Officer when I can (21)...which Army National Guard MOS would be better for me?

I would consider signing up for active duty. Consider all the branches and all available jobs. You could consider trying to become an MP in the Army or Marines, an MA in the Navy, or a Security Forces Specialist in the Air Force.

I would consider trying to join the Coast Guard. You could try to become a Maritime Enforcement Specialist, and later try to become a boarding team member. Being a veteran, regardless of what branch you were in and what job you did, can help you get police officer jobs.

Veterans get extra points on civil service tests and preference for federal jobs. Some police departments that require applicants to have college will waive some or all of their college requirements for veterans. Also, for different reasons, some people simply like to hire qualified veterans whenever they get the chance to.

Some departments even give veterans a higher starting pay. You could probably get at least some college credits while in the military. It is great that you plan on getting a college degree.

Getting a college degree is one of the best things that you can do. Many departments require or prefer applicants to have college. Having a degree could help you get hired by some departments.

Some departments pay their officers more if they have a degree. Having a degree could also help you get promoted during your career. Getting police officer jobs is becoming more and more competitive.

However, all else being equal, a candidate that is a veteran with a college degree has a very good chance of getting hired. Best of luck!

Military service maybe a plus but the Police Department set's it's standards as to what it wants in an applicant. How long would I have to be in the ANG to become a police officer like what would be the steps One has NOTHING to do with the other. An 18 year old out of high school may be recruited into the a police department, depends on what they set as requirements.

Most police departments have websites that you can look up employment requirements If it's a small local department without a website then walk in and tell them you are interested with a career in law enforcement and wanted to speak to someone about it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
