They have the RIGHT to fire you because they fell like it. In the US, you can be fired WITHOUT a stated reason, or for any reason not specifically prohibited by law. There are no laws that prohibit firing you for not fitting in.

Note: based on your description, you were NOT fired for not socializing with the manager. You were fired for seeming ANTI-social to everyone, including customers. I personally have nearly no social skills, and work in an area 100% inaccessible to anyone other than immediate coworkers, and I would EXPECT to be fired for acting the way you claim to act.

DON'T try to convince me it is POSSIBLE to do whatever your job is well without communicating with anyone.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
