If a guy gives advice on tattoos and they misspell tattoo as tatto, should I trust em?

To error is to be human. You should trust him just keep in mind his spelling might be suspect. If he does any tattoos on you make sure he inks out a pattern first, so you can check it before under going the needle.

I guess it depends if the guy giving the advice is actually going to do the tattoo, and whether he is going to have to spell anything on your body. It might get a bit complicated if, for example, your girlfriend's name is Jane and he writes Jan ...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
