If an abused child is adopted, doesn't this change the "open vs closed" adoption argument?

The is the arguement because the are and will always be mac fanboys and windows fanboys out of these too sets of fanboys I have to take the windows fanboy side for a few reasons. Apple have always tried to distance themself from windows based computers, they have tried to make themselves seem above them and better. This is fine, this is advertising.

However people should know the truth. For example apple used to have a advert basically saying they didn't get viruses, ran faster than windows, and was generally better. Apple have had a few of these adverts that they have lost hundreds of thousands for because they adverts get cancelled because they are miss selling things.

Apple however doesn't care, it only has to be viewed by a few thousand people and for them to buy into it for them to make that money back. 1000 people go and buy a £1000 macbook pro thats £1,000,000 and witht he hardware that they put in there being low end thats easily £250,000 profit minus labour. Add word of mouth into that of all the people buying into this and apple make a huge amount of money far more than caring about a feww hundred thousand having to be payed out because they put an illegal advert out there.

Yes the have been stability issues with windows in the past but windows 7 was a turning point. Snow leapord was incredibly unstable from apple, their first attempt at a 64 bit os and it didn't go down amazingly. Windows 7 is just as safe and stable as mac os.

'MAC' has brought the haters on themselves by simply bending the truth to get sales as apposed to making good machines with good hardware and selling them for fair prices. Mac fanboys do have their rights though. Windows fanboys will give biased opinions and often paint macs out to be evil.

They arent, the honest truth is yes they are overpriced for the hardware they have but they do have a very polished OS. Whether this OS is worth a few hundred quid extra is up to the consumer not the fanboys.

PC used to be a generic term for all computers based on Intel's x86 chips. Now it pretty much gets used to mean any non-mac desktop or notebook computer. Why do people get so bent out of shape about which is best?

Because they have way too much free time!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
