That's one opinion. It's not fact, and there are plenty of Christians who vehemently disagree. Claiming that it was local, as some Christians do, gets rid of many of the problems with the story.
However, it reduces the Bible account to an ancient legend, which does not go over well with the literalists. Can you understand that atheists grasp that each group of Christians interprets the Bible in a way that suits their own needs and that your interpretation is no more factual than another group's interpretation simply because it gets rid of some of the issues?
The Bible, however, says the WORLD was flooded, not just a portion of it. IF the Bible said "The basin of the Euphrates was so deep in flood, it took several months for the water to dissipate or otherwise travel out of the basin. During this time, Noah and his family lived on their barge, with their herd animals and a few plants they had saved' there wouldn't be any argument about this at all.
The Word of God says Global flood.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
