No. I'm neutral to the moral or character implications of drug use. Though I personally have never used illegal drugs, I've used plenty of legal performance and mood enhancers, including caffeine and nicotine, not to mention legal depressants such as alcohol.
I think more people than not have dabbled with illegal drugs, and though it's unfortunate that so many experiment with potentially damaging ones like cocaine, I don't find it helpful to hold our politicians to an impossible standard. After all, George W. Bush is a dry alcoholic and his wife once killed a person with a car.
I don't think pot and blow is going to affect my opinion of Obama unless he starts snorting lines off of the furniture in the oval office (or off of dead interns' thighs). I prefer to stick to the issues that matter, one of which happens to be the legalization of if not all drugs then at least those with therapeutic and industrial benefits, as well as no known level of toxicity through standard delivery mechanisms. Heck no I don't think there were too many people who didn't try it, at least once. Heaven knows what the present prez used in his hay day. Everyone knows Bill Clintons' hangup.
If we have to find a candidate who has a perfectly clean record for his/her entire life, we may not have anyone to run. I'm just glad Mr. Obama put his cards on the table, face up. It's refreshing..
Yes - but in a positive way I'd be more inclined to vote for someone who had the guts and honesty to admit to what they did in their youth. Sources: Me .
I'm not aware that he has a past that includes a drug problem. Most people his age have tried some drugs like marijuana. If he had a drug problem and kicked it years ago, that is no problem for me.
Unless he was convicted for selling drugs or something like that, it wouldn't affect my vote for him. He seems to have it all together now..
Yes. Hard to get excited about an admitted drug user. Of course, I got a feeling some other presidents have inhaled. My real problem is with his politics.
I am, how shall we say it, rather conservative. I think Bush is a lefty. Sources: My answer .
