If I already have Verizon and want to keep my old number, do I still qualify for Amazon's cell phone rebate?

My Verizon contract expired a long time ago. I'd like to get a new phone (MOTOKRZR) but still stay with Verizon and keep my old number. Amazon's fine print is not clear to me - it says for new activations... Since I'm out of contract with Verizon, is it considered new activation?
