In general it meets more money, and more opportunities for advancement in your career. Only you know what you want professionally.
A BSN is a college program to prepare you for becoming a registered nurse. Why would you get a college degree, and not get the nursing license to be an RN? It doesn't make sense to URL1 matter what your educational background, if your nursing license is LPN, you will only be able to do the tasks that an LPN is licensed to do in your state.
You will not be able to do the tasks an RN is allowed to do, nor will you be paid what an RN makes. Kat (RN) .
And for pammyj: the RN boards are taken after you have completed a course of study to become a registered nurse. It doesn't matter if that preparation was getting an associates degree in nursing, a BS in nursing, or even a masters in nursing. You are not considered an RN until you pass the state boards and get your RN license.
Technically, you can be an LPN who has graduated from college with a BSN, but from a licensure and work standpoint, you remain an LPN until you have passed the RN boards.
I just never heard of an LPN with a BSN in nursing. Thanks.
Cassiecat - I got my Asso, Degree in Nursing before I sat for the boards. You can't can't take the RN boards unless you have finished the required courses, LPN or not, correct? Thanks.
I was in school with two LPN who took a shorter program due to previous credits taken when they became LPNs.
I thought so too, it's called a bridge to RN program. Thanks. PeeFaye 10 months ago .
Thank you, Cassie. I did earn my Assoc. In Nursing and did pass my state boards here in PA.
I think what I also meant to say that no matter whether you go through an Asso. Program or a BS program, we all take the same licensing boards! Gotta find my glasses .
You need to take the RN exam or your BSN means nothing! Alissa, R.N.
Right, and there are even diploma programs that still allow you to sit for the RN boards so you don't even need an ASN or a BSN to become an RN. But you have better career choices with a ASN than a diploma and better choices with a BSN than an ASN. But all are RN's once you pass the RN NCLEX.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
