If I purchase a cingular compatible phone from Amazon, can I keep my old cingular number and plan?

I have a current plan and am elligible to upgrade my phone at the cingular store, but I would prefer to buy my phone from Amazon. How can I arrange to keep my original phone number? Also, must I chose a plan or do I have to pick one of the five options that Amazon presents?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
