If I was an Amazon Seller and shipping good from the overseas, would I ship directly to Amazon and would they clear it?

Thanks again for your answer. Perhaps I need to be more specific, our company manufactures in Asia and we sell in the USA & Europe. We are considering seting up a Web store at Amazon, what we would do is ship our goods from Asia to Amzons fulfillment centers and I think Amazon can do the shipping & billing for us....is that the way it works?

And does Amazons fulfillment center clear the goods or act as the importer of record? We are trying to avoid shpping to our import agency and then on to Amazon. Also it's damn impossible to get any information where the Amazon warehouses are located so we can't even begin to figure the cost for shipping....that seems a bit crazy to me Rumplebumple 15 months ago .

OK. I understand. Amazon is picky about what it stocks.It concentrates on books and some electronics and relies on its sellers to handle the rest.

So probably the only way to sell your stuff through Amazon is to become a Professional Seller where you have to handle your own shipping and fulfillment. So you can either have a representative in the United States to handle warehousing and fill orders for you, or you can ship your stuff from where you are. You would not ship it to Amazon.

Amazon would send you orders from people, and you would ship the product directly to them. I'll give you an example. I bought a media player from a company and they shipped it to me directly from China, and I got it pretty quickly.

So it is possible to ship items to the US from where you are. As for your other questions, Amazon's warehouses are listed on Amazon's page on Wikipedia. They have warehouses in: Phoenix and Goodyear, AZ; New Castle, DE; Whitestown and Plainfield, IN; Coffeyville, KS; Campbellsville, Hebron (near CVG), Lexington, and Louisville, KY; Fernley and North Las Vegas, NV; Nashua, NH; Carlisle, Hazleton, Allentown, and Lewisberry, PA; Dallas/Fort Worth, TX; Sterling, VANot all warehouses have all items.

Amazon's ordering system figures out what warehouses has the item you're ordering and finds the cloest to ship from there. Amazon has set prices for shipping. Once again Thank you for your time and answers... What we want to ge able to do is ship bulk goods to Amazons Fufillment centers and have them do the small shipments and billing... we are just not set up for individual retail shipments or billing....we are set up for bulk and large orders and shipping from Asia with hundreds of retail customers would be a nightmare of shipping and billing we don't want and can't do. Are items would sell for US$10 to $25 per shipment and I'm hoping amzon will take us on, we'll find out later this week. I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
