1 They're already making less money, and given the hassles of dealing with HMOs and insurance third party administrators, doctors are leaving the profession in large numbers, or refusing to deal with patients with certain types of insurance. And the ripple effect of this is that medical school enrollments are declining as well. As long as there is a profit driven, dividend paying, third party managed "system" it will continue to get worse.
Single payer, health provider, nonprofit health insurance for all is the only way to go, all else will lead to the demise of health care as we know it, and looking back we will call the current 50 million uninsured Americans the good ol' days.
2 I don't know about the money situation, but if the result is anything like Canada, you can have an injury and be told you have to wait a year for an MRI! If you are older, you simply get bumped to the bottom of any surgery list because you are no longer worth saving. If a baby is born too prematurely, it will accidently die, saving the health care system a lot of money.
I can't believe people are willing to swallow this garbage. Well, they swallowed the Obama/Hollywood machine so I guess anything is possible. As it is, the dollar will soon be replaced on the world market and our country has been sold out via more broken promises in a shorter time than any other President I'm aware of.
3 I forgot to ad that the power of the third party administrators is such that Obama is rapidly abandoning all his promises of a rational, single payer system, as the rest of the industrialized world has. They own our "representatives" and so no real reform will ever past until campaign bribery is changed. But that's like asking a pirate to please hang himself for the sake of efficiency.Ha..
The Government also decides if a test that the doctor wants to perform is really necessary, to save money. Why do you think so many people come to the US for operations and to see Doctors. It is for the above reasons.
We have one of the best health care in the world and that will go down. To pay for a national health Care system you must be able to limit the cost, in Doctors pay, test being performed, operations that the Government doesn't feel is necessary, and limit the amount of people getting operations per year. God I hope we never get this, I want to be able to go to a Doctor, get a second opinion and then make up my mind to have that operation or what ever procedure the Doctor.
I don't want the Government to tell me what I can and can not do!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
