If potatoes self-seed, are they safe to eat?

When I was in Ontario I always had a garden where I left the unused potatoes in the ground over the winter. Next year they retook. I did this for 5 straight years and NEVER had a problem, a few self seeded, but don't eat them raw, cuz the taste is different.

Yes, no problem at all. Just don't eat them if they turn green. Green potatoes are poisonous.

They turn green if they are not completely covered by soil.

Of course.... they are safe to eat. However, if they have gone black and has moles on them then you have to throw them away.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
