Of course not. There's nothing illegal about bearing a child out of wedlock, and the stigma isn't even close to what it used to be. And he can hardly "relinquish" a crown for which he is only second in line anyway--even if it's his father that he is in line behind.(Of course, illegitimate Royal offspring used to be pretty much expected--see, for example, Shakespeare's "King Lear," which says a lot about Elizabethan attitudes on the topic.)That said, it would certainly be another media frenzy, and one damaging to the Monarchy's standing in society.
No, the only problem that would arise, should she be pregnant, is, if he doesn't marry her, the child will, I think, still be eligible to be the monarch until he sires legitimate offspring.
I'm pretty sure he could get away with a lot worse than that and still not be forced to relinquish the crown. Anyway, is there any reason to believe this is the case or are you just speculating?
Those people's role is mostly symbolic, they're in it since/by birth and without ever having a choice, have to basically give up having a normal life and be forced into the spotlights all the time. I'm not English, but my country has royalty too and I'd boot them out, no problem. They do nothing but cut ribbons, visit sites and cause trouble/scandal + spend money.
This is just my opinion and you might disagree, which you're free to do, of course, but I think present-day royalty is practically an imprisonment and borders on violating people's rights. I see a lot more cons than pro's, really. What should it really matter if she's pregnant or not?
They love each other, no? It shouldn't be a problem either way. People have children all the time, they're people too, even if they might one day ascend a throne.
Why do people feel the need to ask negative speculating questions?Sorry...(Patriotic Brit Here.!) When I heard the news,I was happy for them, they have got to know each other very well over an eight year period. Presently,it would be Prince Charles who got first refusal of the Royal Crown and that decision lies with the Queen. I think that Prince William is blessed with his mothers' compassionate and sensitive values.
It's just what the British people need, to look forward to a Royal Wedding and I am sure that the Royals will be reigning in the expenses in these difficult economic times! It would be great to, if the media could stop creating speculative theories about Kate Middletons'family motives too! I wish them well and I think that both William and Kate, shall make for super role models in society too:).
The only problem is that the royal image would be seriously tarnished. Not that it hasn't been already what with Fergie's exploits and Prince Charles divorcing the wildly popular Princess Diana for a divorcee commoner bimbo. And the tabloids would have a field day.
If Kate is pregnant (is it William's? ) that might finish the monarchy. This King and Queen business is an outmoded figurehead capacity anyway and a very costly one.
And this, in a time when Britons are financially distressed. If Kate is pregnant, let's hope she can keep the baby in her tummy for nine months until after they're married -- which would be quite a trick.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
