If Pumpkin Pie classifies as Pie, what is Cheesecake? Pie or Cake or just pastry?

Technically, cheesecake and pumpkin pie are both tarts, defined as a pastry shell topped with fruit or other filling, without a pastry top. Tarts may be considered a type of pie.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
