If the 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution were overturned, do you think that Bill Clinton or "W" could win again?

Of course, the 22nd Amendment provides that "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. " But supposed it was overturned. Clinton and Bush are still relatively young.

Do you think either could run successfully for a third term as U.S. President? Would Bill Clinton do better than Hillary? Despite his low approval rating in the polls, Bush still seems to me to have substantial fans.

Could he win again? I know this isn't going to happen, but try to imagine it. Asked by tabbycat 59 months ago Similar Questions: 22nd Amendment Constitution overturned Bill Clinton win Recent Questions About: 22nd Amendment Constitution overturned Bill Clinton win Politics & Law > Politics.

Change Change is a fundamental facet of our political system, and because of that I don't think this would fly. Whether we've liked them or not, even supporters will often admit that there were things they didn't like about their candidates. I think optimism for the new candidates would outweigh any residual appreciation people might have for the Presidents they've liked.

One of those cases where people prefer the devils they don't know. =) .

Not likely First of all, it takes many years for a Constitutional amendment to pass, so although Clinton and Bush are relatively young now, they will be quite a bit older by the time they would be eligible. In any case, I think there's enough animosity on both sides that would make either's election highly unlikely. Bill Clinton is one of the most intelligent people who has served this country, and its a shame that he isn't being used more.

He could be an ambassador-at-large to negotiate peace between the Israelis and Palestinians (an area that has suffered from Bush's not lack of action), or even a Supreme Court justice. Hopefully a Democratic President will be elected in 2008, and whether its Hillary or someone else, they should use Bill's talents to their fullest extent. And Bush can go back to owning baseball teams.

Not W Clinton, yes. W, no. Roosevelt might try again.

For old times sake. But seriously. Have you seen the Republicans positioning themselves away from W over the past week?

Now they are still "Surging" forward but only until September. If it doesn’t get better in Iraq by then, they’ll change their minds and put in a timetable for withdrawl... just in time for November elections! Plus I think people can see in hindsight that Clinton at least was a leader that listened to the people and could see further than appointed "yes men" and his own ego.

Go back to California, Bush. You aren’t even from Texas.

1 beejpowers, regarding your answer "Not W": Interesting answer, with many good points. But I doubt that "W" would be very welcome in California. California is more "blue" than most states, and I doubt that many states would give Bush a lower rating than the Golden State!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
