If the God is almighty, can he create a stone, so heavy, that he could not lift it by himself?

Great paradox - shows the nonsense of omnipotency off very well - God wiped out by his own cosmic logic.

This is one of many paradoxes about God. My favorite is the claim that God is omnipotent and omniscient. If omniscient, then God knows everything that is going to happen and if omnipotent, God can change or do anything.

Does this mean that if God changes the future, God's original omniscience was wrong, because the future is now different? Conversely, if God knows all that will happen, God cannot make changes and thus isn't really omnipotent. Alas, true believers don't need to contemplate these silly illogicalities!

Rather it's much better to ignore all that threatens any belief that defies logic, reason, and the scientific method.

The answer is YES. God could create a rock so big that He could not move it. Does this mean that He would not be God?

NO! NO! NO!

The fact that God would choose to voluntarily limit mself does not make For example. I am married. Does that mean that I could not have sex with other women?

Of course not! I could have sex with anyone I wanted to, but I CHOOSE as an act of my will to limit myself to the wife I love. Does my self-limitation make me any less of a man?

NO! I am still a man, even though I choose to limit my ability as a man for the sake of my wife. By the way.

There is a rock so big that God cannot move it. It is not a rock He created, but it is a rock He set in place. It is the rock of Jesus Christ.

All who stand on this rock can not be moved, ever. God has chosen to allow s wrath to pass over this rock, and it and all who stand upon it will live eternally with God in Heaven.

Yes I believe God could create a rock that heavy... in fact God already created one such rock which has grown too heavy even for s own will power to lift and carry... and that piece of rock is called EARTH. When God became flesh, how heavy do you think was it for m to carry that cross on his back while he was on his way to his place of crucifixion in Calvary?

Quite interesting to observe from the responses that the only feeble defense in the face of this paradox appears to be "god could do it, but he doesn't want to, so there!

It's good to question the concept of God. You will eventually come to realize it's all superstitious nonsense. A dictator that owns you forever.

There is no such thing as God.

That is a complicated question once you get to thinking about it seriously. I happen to think it is a good question. I wrote two hubs (part one and part two) a while back meditating on that very question. My conclusion was that it is possible for "God" to create a stone so heavy even He/She/It cannot lift it.

I wrote them from the perspective of a Westerner, an American -- and as such raised in the Judeo-Christian culture. I believe you might come to different conclusions depending on one's background. Anyway, I answered in the affirmative -- it has to do with "God's" relationship to the universe and to himself/herself/itself (whatever "God" is).

If you'd like to take a look....hubpages.com/hub/Can-God-Create-A-Boulde... it easy.

Jesus answered this question when He was accused of being satan. Jesus asked; How can satan cast out satan?

God cannot create an action or a consequence that will Ungod God. He will always be almighty. From where we stand God is capable of moving back and forth in time from his present moment.

Therefore it is impossible for him to contradict himself from what he has done in the past or even what he is going to do. Therefore for God everything happens in the most powerful moment of NOW. Therefore he is always coherent in his actions.

There is difference between what he can't do, and what he won't do... God can certainly do anything but he will not do tricks as creating a heavy stone or big rock etc because there is no point of doing so... He created this world for a certain purpose and he created us to discover this purpose and live by it..

When God comes down in human form, he mostly conforms himself to the limitations of the human physique. It is his divine play. He does what he chooses to do and there is a reason behind it.

With that said, in there is Lord Krishna, who, as a little boy, is said to have lifted up a hill on his little finger to use it an umbrella to protect his clan from torrential rains. The same lord, in his youth, had a tough war with a King called Jarasandha and fought the war for umpteen years without winning. He even shifted the capital of his kingdom to a new place to escape the onslaught of Jarasahdha!"Who can ever grasp the divine play of God?

" - Sri Ramakrishna.

God knows who and what He is. He is not here to prove He has already done all the miracles He wants to do. He continues to do miracles when circumstances dictate that he does.

It is us who must prove ourselves to him. There is nothing we know of that will make God seem less than He is.

Foolish question but for God answer is everything is created by God he also can create everything without anything nothing was exists before him everything came after him and nothing will be accept him everything starts from him and ends by him he is almighty. Our mind is very little to understand fully to God this is beyond our capability it has been told by God but we can understand little bit by looking around the universe with interest and through his message by the help of God .

He did. Rock Of Ages. Created the means by which it would be moved too.

Maybe you've heard of it. It's called a "lever". The question really should be; What is hidden under the rock?

If you know, then you must have moved it. There was one who created it, then Lord and Lord God helped him move it. This is why two angels appear at the tomb after the rock was moved.

The third aspect was inside. Between the three of them, they moved it. Then Mary showed up and almost ruined the surprise.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
