I agree that English should remain the language of the USA because it is part of the American culture. There is no "official" language for the USA though. No Federal law says English is the official language.
Maybe that is what is needed to insure everyone assimilates into our culture when they come here. If immigrants wish to retain the culture of the country they come from, they should return to that country and make it as good as the USA instead of coming here and expecting to get all the benefits of our country, but expecting everyone already here to adopt the culture of the country the immigrant came from. When the revolutionary war was fought, almost half the country spoke German or Dutch.
The way English became the language of our country was the only school text books the new country had in quantity were written in English, so the students in most communities had to learn to read and write English if they attended school. Within a few years, English was spoken by almost all young people and became the most spoken language of America. There has never been a law passed or any official language recognized as American.
The USA actually does not have an official language.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
