If there were a line on the ballot that would let you vote out every single member of Congress - including your own rep - would you do it?

Your basically asking should we blow up congress and start over. I think it would be the best thing for the country to completely wipe out the senate, congress, the the cabinet. Then put a CEO in charge of the country, and run the country like its a business.

Start asking the questions a business owner would, who was trying to make money. Would you employee 100 senators and 435 representatives and pay them $175,000 and up (Yes thats near 100 MILLION Dollars a year) not to mention their retirement, AND their expense accounts. And should taxpayer dollars be used to put them up in $500/night hotels and have $200 dinners?

They have an allowance for liqour in their offices and planes. AND they fly around in private planes at taxpayer expense? Does the first lady need a staff of 22 people working for her to the tune of 1.5 Million dollars a year?

Does it make sense to bribe senators with taxpayer dollars to get them to vote the way you want? Do we really want the government, who can't run the medicare system, to take over the entire health care system which is 20 times bigger at least. Should we blow up the best health care system in the world and adopt a socialized medicine system that doesn't work anywhere in the world?

We need reform but don't blow up the system. If one part of the house is on fire, you don't set another part of the house on fire, you go and try to put out the little fire. I COULD GO ON ALL DAY.

BOTTOM LINE - Replacing every senator and rep would do nothing if we didn't change the leadership, policies, and procedures. We need our government to run the country like a business, balance the budget, don't be some damn wasteful, listen to what the people want, limit government control, and let the free market rule. And if we do replace them all, how about we put in people with some integrity.

Then my answer would be "no" because then we'd be left with only something resembling an absolute monarchy and that's only still working in places like Swaziland. If you're implying that we could immediately replace all the members of congress, then my answer would still be "no" because all the spots would be filled up with the same entitlement-minded, power-hungry, career politicians, that we have currently that are only concerned about self preservation and not about making hard decisions about the welfare of the all people (majority and minority), that almost every other industrialized country seemed to be able to figure out over 50 years ago.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
