Heh - that old Colt would be legal here in New York 'cause ya can't load more than 7 rounds at a time. Sumbltch has too much kick to be very accurate - even though I fired "expert" with the thing while in the Army. Nah, it's not an "assault weapon".
But I thoroughly believe it should be registered and the owner required by law to keep the thing locked up in the home and the ammo kept locked up in a different location in the house. We had to keep them locked up in the Army except when training with them or on duty - why should you be any different?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
