I think they would knock them both down and rebuild them. This is most often done with explosives so I choose A. The planes caused an enormous amount of structural damage so that the risk of collapse would have been huge.
The cost to analyze the weaknesses and repair them, if possible, would be astronomical. How much do you think your insurance would be after your building was hit by a large jet? Even a small house can be built from scratch faster than it can be gutted and remodeled.
Scale that up to a huge building and it would take many years for it to be repaired and it would be extremely difficult and dangerous to do so. The twin towers were built extremely quickly the first time around and if we don't mess around we can rebuild them just as fast.
Depends on the damage that was caused. I don't think in any case they would demolish both towers completely or partially if the damage wasn't catastrophic to the structural integrity of the entire buildings. It wouldn't make sense for them to just "shorten" the building... as from an engineering standpoint you would have to put a roof where a roof was never meant to be.
They would most likely gut the damaged parts of the building to the steel supports. It may or may not be necessary to demolish the entire top portions of the building, as the fires did not occur directly on the top floors. They would then reinforce/replace the damaged sections as needed, and then rebuild exactly as it was before.
Thats what happened when a small plane crashed into the Empire State Building in 1945.
So say 9/11 happened and the planes rammed into the towers but they didn't collapse like they did on the day. What would have happened? Would they have had to be demolished anyway?
Could they have been repaired?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
