I would pick brocolli. It is high in fiber, full of minerals and vitamins, versatile in what you can do with eg. Puree, chop, steam, stirfry, fry.It lacks protien, as tofu was a strong second, but the mineral and vitamin content made me go here instead of with tofu.
It would have to be the Pinto bean... It is a legume so it provides protein and a great deal of nutritional value, it is very high in fiber so it is an asset in that area. It is capable of being prepared in a large number of ways A half-cup serving of dry beans provides six to seven grams of protein, meets at least 10% of the Recommended Dietary Allowance for protein, about 25-30% of the daily fiber need (about 75% of the fiber is insoluble which reduces risk of colon cancer, the other 25% of the fiber is soluble which reduces cholesterol. Beans are helpful in controlling diabetes since they do not raise blood glucose and insulin levels very much.
Slow release of glucose and increased satiety from beans help in weight-control. In addition, beans contains large amounts of iron, phosphorous, magnesium, manganese, potassium, copper, calcium, and zinc. But to be properly balanced nutritionally, beans need to be eaten with a cereal, like rice.
Besides, I was raised in Texas where the Pinto bean was a staple and there was always a bowl of beans available for all meals but perhaps breakfast. I think they are delicious and I have and will happily eat them the rest of my life... Oh, flatulence? Pre-Soaking in hot water and discarding the water before cooking will get rid of half the problem.
If it still exists, then a bit of Beano will put the proper bugs in your system to digest the beans. If not, you can always sing the childhood song about "Beans, the Musical Fruit...." Either apples or bread... My first choice would be apples. I love love apples, as long as they aren't sour. My absolute favorite are fuji apples.
And ofcourse, they are extremely good for you. My second choice would be bread... i'm a carbaholic. I've never had any bread that I didn't like. It's not as good for you as apples but boy is it yummy.
There are also a million varities of bread so that you would never get tired of it. My favorite is crusty italian bread... yum!.
Give me a good pizza... Personally if I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would be a good pizza. Pizza is kind of unique as you could use different ingredients and change it up so you do not get too tired of it. It does include a lot of food groups...with veggies, meat, bread/crust, dairy/cheese.
I think pizza is kind of unique...not only can you change up the toppings and get completely different tastes...you can eat it cold or hot...you could go thin crust, think crust, pan pizza, stuffed. Plus I love pizza and it would take awhile for me to get tired of it. Of course if it is all I could eat for the rest of my life I guess I would get tired of it relatively quickly but I guess it could be worse. My favorite pizza is Chicago style thin crust...most popular on the south side of Chicago...it seems all you hear of when you hear about Chicago pizza is stuffed and pan but the thin crust is the best in my opinion.

Snoek and chips from Mariners' Wharf, Hout Bay, Cape Town. Well, it’s balanced nutritionally, so that one’s out of the way ... there is something about the way that particular restaurant cooks it; the snoek is a firm, slightly sweet, white fish and the magic ingredient they put in the batter makes it give a slightly caramelised juice that soaks into the chips and ...
