This is a really great question. It's actually making me think more, since instead of having just myself involved, I have to consider what another person may want or need, and which person in my life needs something the most. So this is what I've come up with.
The one person I would want to give something to most would be my youngest brother, Tom. And I would want to give him his own vacation, to share with whoever he wanted. This is because, before my grandpa died a couple months ago, I promised I'd take my little brother to San Antonio.
We had taken a family vacation there a few years back and he fell in love with the place. I had some extra money so I said we would go, and it would be our first vacation alone, as adults (he had just graduated from high school). Sadly, grandpa passed away and things changed fast.
We had to sell our house, and I needed to move out so that my mom could get a smaller place. Telling my brother that there would be no vacation was awful. I still end up crying when I think of it.
But if I could give him that again, and especially so soon after I had to cancel the previous one, well I guess that would both help him have a great time and maybe help him to forgive me. I would definitely benefit from this wish, especially if he decided to take me along :). But I would also get a great feeling from it, for finally giving my little brother what I promised him.
I would want the genie to grant my friend the power to create peace on earth. All of civilization would benefit from that, including myself.
This is a great question. It is a tough question too. My answer will seem strange, but here it is.
I'd grant my mother (who passed away ten years ago) the ability (when she was younger) to have children. My mom and dad adopted all of us. I know that the struggle and frustration of a woman who was truly meant to 'have' kids but couldn't have kids biologically was a very difficult one.
They tried for many years to have kids but never could and never really knew why. Perhaps granting my mom this wish would mean that I might have been adopted by another family, and that is not really what I would ever wish for. She ended up with her family, and we had a great time.
Still this is my wish for the genie in the lamp...
It would be for my aging Father and I would ask for his health.
Mine friend would fully removed the account of FACEBOOK.
I would wish that the richest person in the world would donate their wealth to feeding the poor and under nourished children of the world.
I would wish that my wife would become the richest women in the world.
I would wish for my friend to have the capital he needs for his start up company. I am completely sold on his ideas and abilities.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
