No. Amazon keeps track of all your books you downloaded for them. I had this happen.

I returned my broken Kindle and they sent me a new one the next day. And the books popped up on the home page and downloaded. Now, the other books I had in PDF format, I had to load onto it myself using the USB cable that comes with it.

But that's pretty easy to do! And you can archive your books on your PC, so if they don't download, you can use the archive to back them up. So don't worry about your purchased books.
