Please, don't apply to universities based on "status" If you are a straight-A student with plenty of club involvement and have set up your own volunteer organization or run your own business, then by all means, apply to Harvard, Yale and Stanford. But if that does not describe you, don't waste the money. Instead, sit down and figure out what works for YOU.

Not your friends, not your parents, not your significant other. Go to a site such as the Princeton Review: princetonreview.com/college/default.asp There, not only will you find rankings of colleges and universities, you'll also find an extensive quiz meant to get you thinking about what you want out of your college career. Some things to keep in mind: *Does it have a program that you MIGHT be interested in (in other words, don't decide your major before you go)?

*Do you want to stay close to home or move away? *What is the teacher-to-student ratio? *How many students finish in 5 years?

*If you play sports, will you be able to participate on this campus? *Could you see yourself in its community? These questions, and more, will be asked on tests such as the one above, and hopefully you'll be able to narrow it down from there.

After that, I suggest applying to 4-6 colleges--and one or two can definitely be a long shot. In addition, now is not the time to worry about money. Yes, it is important, but you never know what type of scholarships you'll be eligible for until you ask.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
