Yes but only if I were asked to. Or saw something that put people in danger.
I would confront them. I would ask them to leave of their own accord and I would advise them that if they elected not to do so, more police would be on the way and they would all go to jail. The choice would be theirs to make.
This does not have to be a physical thing...simply a process of communications and maintaining your cool. WB.
No, I would ask them to call a cop on duty. There is not only danger in being unarmed in that situation, but there would be liability too if someone was injured being escorted out.
No, unless I was a black belt karate expert. Even though, I feel better with a gun.
As an on duty civillian - I have been asked to remove several people from my local watering holes over the years. I haven't said "no" yet.
When you live in a country with no gun control and lots of pistol packers with drunken beer-judgement and short fuses its a good idea to call for armed reinforcement.
I am Military Police, and was just shy of obtaining POST Certification in my State, but decided to return to school. POST states an off-duty officer's obligation, and it usually concerns emergency situations only. While the owner of a building is free to ask any patron to leave, if he doesn't have bouncers, he will need to call the on-duty police.
I think the rule of thumb is not to step in, unless there is a legitimate risk to a person or property.
It depends on the number of troublemakers and my assessment of their physical strength as against that of mine ( assuming that I am in the bar, haven't had much to drink and no one else is there to help me ). If I feel confident that I can tackle alone without a gun I would step in immediately or else I would ask for the Policeman on duty to be called.
Yes. My duty as a policeman does not stop just because I'm off that day. It is a round-the-clock-job.It is my job to protect the public from any impending danger of whatever kind.
Besides, being a policeman there is always a presumption that you could protect the public even without a gun for after all you have been trained to do so in more ways than one.
This would depend on who asked and what the so called troblemakers wee doing.
With all the odds against you I would say stay and be the civilian you are at present. It's up to the club to hire a bouncer or to call the police.....
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
