MOODY MONTHLY and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC are only ones I can remember at this time. Because of my work schedule, I don’t remember subscribing to many magazines. I was/am active in my church and sought ways to sharpen my skills.
MOODY MONTHLY Magazine was beneficial. I do remember reading LIFE, GOOD HOUSEKEEPING and FAMILY CIRCLE though. Sports Illustrated I've been a subscriber since the late 60's. Also, Life magazine was always a good one because of the awesome pictures they would have.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
