Yeah, if I have to be stranded, then the one thing I want with me is my husband. If it has to be a thing and not a person, then of course I want a satellite phone with a fully charged battery so that I can get rescued! Or, even better, a fully charged PC with a satellite modem in it that can get me on the Internet so I can get rescued and then futz around until the rescue gets there.
:P If no people and no communication devices are allowed, then I want a huge waterproof full butane lighter.
The most fun would be if I could bring the whole cast and set from Gilligan's Island. I loved that show as a kid: youtube.com/watch?v=qycmb7_LvsA.
If I were stranded on a desert island, the one thing I would want with me is a crashed federal express plane with all or most of the cargo intact. The benefit to this of course would be that I would have my friend Wilson there with me, an ice skate to cut down trees in order to make my own raft to float away, a skirt with lots of crinoline to make a makeshift fishing net, and a picture of butterfly wings to give me hope. (Hmmmm, this sounds very familiar) What I also hope is on this plane is a really powerful cell phone or military type radio to contact the rescue planes or ships passing by.
Well, I guess it’s pretty useless to say that I would like to bring my computer with me to have some form of contact to the outside world, since there would likely be no wireless service out there on the island. I would, however, want to bring a device that plays music (one that may be able to be charged by solar power rather than electricity). Being stranded on a faraway island could be an adventure, but I think I would go crazy from all the silence out there.
You could definitely make the time you spend there more bearable by listening to your favorite types of music and you could sing along without the fear of anybody eavesdropping.
Seeing how the question is stranded the one thing I would want with me is a woman!
Well, my first response would be to say I would want my son to be with me. But then I think to myself, I wouldn't want him to be stranded too. I want him to live a full and happy life.
Then I say I would want my spouse. But then who would be happy to see me when was finally rescued? If I could have anything?
My blackberry. That thing works EVERYHWERE! I'd use it to call home and get a boat ride out of there!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
