Before spending anything, I'd catch my breath and thank the heavens I wasn't broke anymore. I'd eventually gain a realization I wasn't dreaming and enough stability to cash that bad boy in! After cashing in my ticket, I'd buy a couple new vehicles for my husband and myself.
This is out of need vs. complete luxurious greed. Mind you, I'd buy something nice though! Maybe I'd manage to get that much cash in hand and pay for it by counting out the bills for the sheer excitement of it all!
I'd buy several acres of land and hire a contractor to build my families dream house and then take a nice holiday in Europe while it was all being done. Somewhere in between all of that flurry of excitement, I'd make sure my best friend and her son was taken care of and that my immediate family who needed help had it. Before leaving on my European vacation, I'd stuff the majority of that money in the bank so it would draw interest and I'd never have to worry about struggling ever again.
I know you only asked for the first way that I would spend my winnings, but I think it'd be such a mixture of doing this and that I answered with the first series of events that I know would unfold.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
