Any and all jobs can only exist if the profit they bring in is exceeds the wage. If they do not then they are unsustainable and will be replaced by technology, outsourcing or elimination of the industry itself. I used my job in a retail grocery store to gain experience that helped me gain a better paying position at a food factory.
I took the shifts that nobody else wanted and I did the jobs that others did not want to do. The entire time I was enrolled in college eventually gaining my degree. I stayed with the idea of doing the work others did not want to do.
I went stayed at the food factory and eventually became the Sanitation Manager. I moved into the sales division and finally went on to a corporate position. Along the way I earned two Masters degrees, attended a lot of workshops in addition to working a lot of weekends and nights I share my story because I want you to know that you have to move forward.
If you want to stay in fast food find out what it takes to be manager. If you want to move on to another field get an education that will allow you to do so. Join the military or go to truck driving school.
The oil fields in North Dakota are still going. You might have to pick up and move somewhere else. I have had to move numerous times but it is what it took in order to gain the six figures I was looking for.
I loved my time in retail but I knew that it would not give me the life I wanted or the means to support my family.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
