My son is nine months old, and I won't deny that I'm in love with my bestfriend, now boyfriend. My sons father isn't really in the picture because he cheated. I don't want my son to be confused, and it really upsets me when my son calls my boyfriend "Dada".

Honestly I'm not sure, my boyfriend has always been talking about marriage and being a family. (He was my high school sweetheart). But I want my son to know who his father is and for his birth father and him to have a "daddy son relationship".

Well, you are in an awkward place. I applaud you for wanting your son to have a relationship with his biological father. I would tell your boyfriend that as much as you appreciate his love of your son, and his willingness to play a role in his life, that you are simply not comfortable with totally cutting he father out of the picture.

Explain to him that you all can be a family without his having to displace son's real dad. If your boyfriend is a mature as he seems, he will understand. If he gets upset, then you might want to take a closer look at him.

And why he wants to replace your son's real father.

I don't think you are being fair to your boyfriend, he's offering to be a father to your son, he's there now, your ex isn't. Your son see's your bf constantly, he doesn't care who fathered him, he cares who feeds him, changes his diapers, plays with him, holds him when he's frightened, sings him to sleep, plays with him. That is what makes a father.

Just because a man biologically creates a baby does NOT make him a father. Does the biological father do any of those things? Be grateful for the man who is willing to accept another mans child as his own.

Stop being so selfish and think of your child and boyfriend. If you want your child to call his biological father "daddy" then leave your boyfriend and get back with your ex.

Let them both be daddy, when he's old enough to understand, explain to him that one is his biological father, and one is a father out of love. Believe it or not, there are probably thousands of familys with this issue. And it doesn't have to be an issue, its just the way things are these days.

Kids accept these things a lot easier than adults. If you keep telling him that your boyfriend is NOT his daddy, that may confuse him, specially if he's living with you and your son. THAT would confuse him more IMO.

Kids have fathers and stepfathers , and there is absolutely nothing wrong with calling a stepfather dad.

If you really love him and you know that he'll treat you and your son right then I say go for it. As for your son being confused, theres not really much you can do except stear him in the right direction. Eventually he'll figure it out and be okay.

Dada is just an easy word for babies like mama....Maybe in the future he could adopt your son if the relationship works. All people love babies. Fathers are not so much biological and who loves them.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
