You can definitely expect some type of discipline for not following policy, but what it is will depend on the circumstances, your record, and your employer's and DON's methods of enforcement. What concerns me is your use of the phrase "hugging and transferring." If you are not using your gait belt and you are using a "hug" type transfer, this is dangerous to the resident and you need to be retrained.
Please ask your DON to set up time for you to have your rehab department review safe transfer techniques with you so that you will feel more confident and not place your residents in any jeopardy. Accidents do happen even with good intentions. Use this as a learning experience to improve your technique.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
