Now before anyone gets their knickers in a knot, I didn't mean bored with Askville, I meant bored in general. I've finished my book, dinner doesn't need much preparation, the kids are actually behaving for a change. Now that I think about it, anyone know where that phrase comes from?

This is what it looks like! : So unless you look like any of these guys, I think you're not nearly as bored as you think you are. Consider that good news.

And where did the "knickers in a twist" phrase come from? It came from 1970s Britain - the idea being that if you get too agitated your panties will get twisted up in your shorts - presumably from your frantic dancing aruond. I had some panties like that.

Easily twisted. Threw 'em out.No more twisted knickers.

I'm gonna show you exactly what a bored person looks like... But please don't get your panties in a wad! (that's the expression here in Eastern Kentucky)(presumably the expression comes from one clinching their butt-cheeks when angry or aggravated, causing their panties to sorta wad up... now, if you don't mind, that's enough said about that subject! ) Now, bored people... That's me, with a bird making a nest in my hair.My daughter with thoughts a thousand miles away.

My son-in-law, just about to slip into nap land. My younger grandson in deep pre-teen thought. OK, this is what "bored" looks like!

Thank goodness we aren't bored ALL the time! Now, I just hope my daughter and family don't see these pictures and get their panties all in a wad!.

It's an Aussie expression The phrase apparently comes from Australia: knickers in a knot - To get one’s knickers in a knot is to become agitated, flustered, bothered (about something). ------------------ As for being "bored" looks like - Ah well, I’ve got a few pictures of that and will enclose them here - . .. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .. Thats good knickers in a knot...... Just picture a red neck popping the bubbles on bubble plastic wrap! It may look like they are having fun but they are so bored out our minds they find it interesting! It gets even better when there are no more bubbles to pop.

They say ( GOOGLE Search ) that your phrase originates in Australia; Means- Don't lose your temper The new version- Don't get your panties in a wad! Sources: Personal Experience / GOOGLE .

1 My idea would be of my husband coming in every afternoon after going to spend time with his friend hanging out in his garage, coming home sitting on the couch watching Star Treck or something like it,and then regular tv shows until bedtime.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
