Im looking for a childrens book but I cant remember the title or the author, can you help me?

Its a book suitable for junior school aged children. I owned it as a child and loved it so I would like to find a copy for my own children. Its about a young girl who has a witch and her son living in the chimney breast in her bedroom.

I think she taps the wall and magically finds herself in their home. The son doesn't get on with his witch mother and the young girl isn't getting on with her parents or little brother either. Its close to xmas and she is taken to an ice palace in the north pole by this witch boy, on a broom stick.

Trouble is human children are not allowed there and when she is discovered she is thrown in the dungeon. The two of them come across many colourful characters on their journey, goblins who sing songs while they work and an evil ice queen whos in charge of the palace. If anyone has any idea of what this book is called or who it is written by I would be so grateful.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
